Standards of Ethical Conduct

At Dominion and Power Christian Academy, we believe every person has value. We honor the truth, strive for excellence, and work to give every student an equal chance to succeed. We are committed to creating a safe, caring environment where students can learn, grow, and become responsible citizens.
Our Main Focus: The Students
We are here to help students become the best version of themselves. That means:

Protecting them from anything that could harm their learning, health, or safety.

Encouraging independent thinking and creativity.

Offering access to a variety of ideas and viewpoints.

Teaching truthfully without changing or hiding important information.

Avoiding embarrassment or hurtful comments toward students.

Respecting students’ rights and privacy.

Never harassing or treating anyone unfairly based on race, gender, religion, background, disability, or family situation.

Never using our role to take advantage of a student for personal gain.

Keeping private student information confidential, unless required by law or needed for professional reasons.
Our Responsibility to Each Other
We expect our team to treat each other with respect and honesty. That means:

Being truthful in all professional matters.

Treating all coworkers fairly and without bias.

Respecting coworkers’ rights to have their own opinions or beliefs.

Not saying harmful or false things about coworkers.
-
Helping to maintain a peaceful, respectful, and safe workplace free from harassment or discrimination.
Required Training
All teachers, staff, and administrators must complete training on these standards as a condition of employment.
Reporting Misconduct
If you see or suspect someone breaking these rules, especially in ways that affect student safety, you must report it. Examples include:

Using inappropriate language

Alcohol or drug use

Making cruel or biased comments
-
Sexual comments or behavior
-
Cheating or helping others cheat
-
Physical aggression
-
Giving or receiving improper gifts or favors
Report misconduct to:
Dr. Renee' Hill, Chief Administrator/Owner
She also handles reports involving other administrators.
If serious and legally valid, the report will be sent to the Florida Office of Professional Practices Services.

Reporting Child Abuse or Neglect
Every staff member must report suspected child abuse, abandonment, or neglect.

Warning Signs to Watch For:
Physical Abuse

Unexplained bruises, burns, or injuries

Fear of going home, withdrawn or aggressive behavior

Wearing clothes to hide injuries
Sexual Abuse

Pain or issues in private areas
-
Unusual sexual behavior or knowledge
-
Fear of a specific person or changes in behavior
Neglect

Poor hygiene, constant hunger, or lack of supervision

Stealing food or appearing overly needy
-
Untreated medical issues
It’s not always one sign — but a pattern of signs should be reported.
You Are Protected
If you report abuse or misconduct in good faith, the law protects you from being sued or charged.
Florida Statutes 39.203 and 768.095 guarantee that protection.
